UE5 Week4

In Lesson 4 we learnt how to use the gravity and collision properties of an object to create a falling collision action.

You can make the ball fall in a different state by modifying the gravity property so that it looks like you are changing the weight of the ball.

After that we learnt how to use chains to link objects together so that the parts that are strung together don’t break when we run.

Next we started to communicate with Serra about the direction of the big project we wanted to do at the end of the period and the finished product. I looked for some reference pictures and built a scene in maya using the model first, my idea was to make a picture of man and nature living in harmony, in this picture the characters are very small and the surrounding scenery and animals are very big, Serra asked me to think about the inconvenience and other factors of the life when the people become small. Serra made me think about how inconvenient life becomes when people get smaller, and how I can find more ideas about the changes in the environment.

UE5 Week3

In week 3 we learnt Sequencer and cinematics for UE Sequencer and cinematics for UE.

We talked about some of the advantages of UE5 when creating videos.

Next we downloaded a free scene from the mall, created a graphic in the scene and then used Sequencer to move the object and keyframe it, and then we could see its movement through the curves.

Then create a cinecamera in the screen can be recorded on the camera lens when we move the camera screen will also be converted. Then you can put together multiple subseqiences to form a multi-angle video.

UE5 Week2

In the second lesson we learned how to create materials in nodes, connecting points to base colour, metallic or roughness and adjusting their parameters to create different effects, so that we can create our own material spheres to attach to other objects.

Next we learnt how to use landscape mode to create terrain.

It is worth noting that when we create models we can create separate folders for lighting and general models so that they can be better categorised.

UE5 Week1

In the first lesson Serra first taught us how to download the software UE5, we use the Epic games launcher to download, download the 5.1 version of UE5, and then showed us some of the material resources in the mall, and then introduced us to the format of the different software to save after the different file storage in the UE5 file format, as well as in the creation of the page to choose what the different different.

After entering the UE5 software, the teacher taught us how to move and place objects and other basic operations, as well as switching viewpoints and different ways of view, as well as the creation of the camera method. We also learnt how to create cameras and use different materials.
